New radar installed in Scotland County to better detect weather events
SCOTLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WPDE) — A new weather radar system was installed in Scotland County to better detect events such as flash flooding, sleet, ice, and tornadoes. This radar, the dual-polarization X-Band weather radar, is designed to fill small gaps of coverage and provide the highest resolution view of what’s happening nearest to the ground.
