New company looks to add Doppler radars to Oregon to fix the “radar gap”
Tracking rain, snow, hail, or even the occasional thunderstorm is very difficult here in Oregon due to a lack of Doppler radar coverage. The closest radars are in Portland and Medford, leaving a big radar gap from Corvallis to Roseburg, and out to the Oregon coast. A company called Climavision is considering adding up to four Doppler radars in Oregon, something that could happen in the next few years.
