Closing the radar gap: New system to provide crucial low-level coverage in Northern Iowa
“What got me started this was the Two tornadoes that affected Gilmore City in Humbolt County, and one of them damaged our home, and not being able to have the weather radar warnings at that point in time was a little bit spooky.” — Humboldt County Emergency Manager Kyle Bissel had limited warnings when a tornado hit his home two years ago. This was a few years prior to becoming an emergency manager and beginning to look into how to improve weather warnings.
