Clearing the skies: Weather radar installed to help fill gaps

It was an important day in Wendell and Grant County on Oct. 19, as an x-band weather radar was installed on top of the city’s water tower. The installation will give area counties better access to early warnings for weather and help fill low-level weather radar gaps. In part of a pilot project, the City of Wendell and Grant County, have been working with the firm Climavision to deploy the first x-band pilot project in Minnesota. This X-band radar will supplement weather coverage in between neighboring NEXRAD S-Band radars.
