Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority works to fill weather radar gap in NCW
WENATCHEE — Parts of Chelan and Douglas counties, among others, have a gap in weather radar coverage, but local officials are working to fill it. Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority CEO Jim Kuntz and port commissioner Jim Huffman had a phone call in early February with private company Climavision, specializing in filling in radar gaps, Kuntz said. He added the meeting was “terrific,” and the port asked company representatives to present at the next Chelan County Tri-Commision meeting at 1 p.m. on March 26. The meeting at the Confluence Technology Center will include the port, Chelan County and Chelan County PUD, as well as Douglas County leaders.
